airManaged is a young, dynamic start-up operating out of De Waterkant in Cape Town. We are obsessed with making sure that our clients and guests are wowed on a daily basis… and we also quite like Airbnb.


What we do

We make Airbnb hassle-free.

We manage our clients’ inbox, arrange cleaners, organise repairs, coordinate key exchanges, provide guest support, and even optimise their pricing to ensure they are always maximising their rentals.


We have grown to managing over 250 properties in a very short period of time and are looking to hire great people to come along for the ride.

1. Property Manager


What you’ll be doing:

  • Looking after properties like they are your own.
  • Mobilising our maintenance team to ensure your properties are well maintained and looking awesome.
  • Making sure our clients are always kept in the loop and happy.
  • Checking our guests in.
  • Slaying tasks all day long.
  • Working hard and being nice to people.

Who you need to be:

  • Friendly and reliable.
  • Calm under pressure. You run towards the fire not away from it.
  • Able to communicate effectively both over the phone and on email.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Solution focused.
  • You need to give a shit about the happiness of both our guests and property owners.



2. Operations Manager


What you’ll be doing:

  • Working closely with the property managers, guest experience team, cleaning trainer & linen team to ensure that the on-the-ground operations (cleaning, linen, maintenance, check-ins, check-outs) happen like clockwork.
  • Keeping guests happy at all times.
  • Working 5 days per week on a rotation basis.

3. Guest Experience


What you’ll be doing:

  • Handling all guest communication to ensure guests are always delighted.
  • Working closely with our operations team to ensure the day runs smoothly.
  • Working on a shift rotation basis so that our guests are always looked after.

Who you need to be:

  • You love making people happy, but are able to hold a boundary in a gentle way.
  • You can see situations from different perspectives and find a fair solution.
  • Friendly and reliable.
  • Able to communicate effectively both over the phone and on email.
  • You can type faster than you can think.


4. Front-end Developer


What you’ll be doing:

  • Solving the complex and interesting problems that our team and clients experience every day.
  • Building and maintaining the interfaces that keep the company running.
  • Adding functionality to our Ionic apps for Android + iPhone.


Who you need to be:

  • Fluent in AngularJS and Javascript.
  • An HTML+CSS master.
  • Solid experience with Ionic+Cordova.
  • Comfortable taking a PSD design or badly sketched wireframe and turning it into reality.
  • Obsessed with UX and making interfaces as frictionless as possible.
  • Messy, inefficient and uncommented code makes you sick.
  • Eager to learn and grow.


5. Backend PHP Developer


What you’ll be doing:

  • Building and maintaining our API that feeds all of our interfaces.
  • Integrations with other providers.
  • Looking after our servers and making sure they are running smoothly at all times.


Who you need to be:

  • A PHP professional.
  • A Mysql master.
  • Obsessed with efficiency and clean code.
  • Messy, inefficient and uncommented code makes you sick.
  • Eager to learn and grow.


6. Bookkeeper


What you’ll be doing:

  • Using Xero and our in-house property management system to make sure our books are always in perfect shape.
  • Prepare VAT returns.
  • Reconciling accounts.
  • Manage full debtors function.
  • Load weekly payments.
  • Reconcile petty cash.
  • Invoicing.
  • Process deposits and allocate accurately.
  • Check that rental payments have been received and follow up if not.
  • Ensure that authorization of invoices and payments gets done in time and follow up on regular basis.
  • Analyze accounts and prepare reports.
  • Assist with general HR.
  • Assistance with general ad-hoc administration including making flight and accommodation bookings.


Who you need to be:

  • Minimum of 3 years book keeping experience.
  • Relevant qualification.
  • Experience with Xero a massive plus.
  • Experience in property rental/management not required, but a medium plus.
  • It goes without saying that you are meticulous to the point of annoying those around you.
  • You must be honest and reliable.
  • Although our specific systems will be taught on the job, you must be comfortable using technology.


7. Head of Housekeeping


Dynamic and innovative Head of Housekeeping required!

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a fast growing team of housekeepers and supervisors
  • Direct and coordinate the daily operations of the housekeeping department
  • Recruiting and training of new team members
  • Monitoring the performance of staff
  • Performing spot checks
  • Recommending suggested improvements to top management
  • Providing solutions to issues that may arise
  • Dealing closely with the operations and linen team on a daily basis
  • Carrying out any other duties as may be reasonably required by management

  • 2-3 years in a similar position either at a comparable organisation or a hotel
  • Experience managing a team of at least 20.


8. Intern


What you’ll be doing:

  • Gaining experience in every aspect of Short-term Rental Management.
  • Helping our operations, property management and guest experience get shit done.
  • Working hard and being nice to people.
  • Learning a lot.

The internship pays R7000/month.
